Why you should bring ceremony into your life
There is a reason the act of creating, holding, and participating in ceremonies is a part of every culture throughout human history. Ceremony gives us a framework to process, celebrate and bring meaning to so many aspects of life.
For many of us though, that practice is lost in our modern world, especially for the smaller yet no less significant periods in life - from losses to achievements to transitions.
With Ceremony, our intention is to bring that back. To cultivate sacred, inspired space and bring presence and reverence into our experience. Through DIY ceremony boxes, our mission is to help people honor, heal and celebrate life.
What is a Ceremony Exactly?
According to the Mirriam-Webster dictionary, a ceremony is “a formal act or series of acts prescribed by ritual, protocol, or convention.”
We know about ceremony when it comes to the big events - weddings, funerals, births, coming of age - but the simple yet profound power that ceremony brings can be a healing and transformative force for so many parts of life.
Ceremonies can be held for a rite of passage, an observance of a momentous occasion, a service for a major life event, as a ritual or a celebration. They can be formal or casual, held alone or with others, and can happen regularly to once-in-a-lifetime.
The range of applications to create conscious space is vast. Our ceremony boxes will give guidance on how to do that and be in ceremony with intention.
What is a Ceremony Box?
Through guidance, meditation, inspiration, research, and help from experts, each box is designed to help you pause, cultivate sacred space, foster self-care, empower you through life’s transitions, and create a comprehensive experience that supports you while leaving room for you to make it your own.
Our debut collection begins with attuning to the seasons - natural transitions in the sun’s journey that influence our inner lives. We offer a strengthening and uplifting experience that supports you through each season.
While our boxes may need to be experienced to be fully understood, words from those that have received them can shed light. ⠀
“I bought my first Ceremony box. I held on to if for a while until I had space to really be present with it. Each item in the box was wonderful & beautifully curated. I used this box & the items inside to help guide me in acknowledging the work I do. This line - reminding us of our greatness - was such a wonderful reminder of how impactful items like this help us create space to slow down & connect.” - Rachel from Cincinnati
“Ceremony is a beautiful way to celebrate and ritualise precious moments in our lives, carefully curated boxes to bring magic to the passing of time.” - Aisling from Dublin
"Ceremony boxes are carefully crafted and thoughtfully ideated. For someone like me, who usually finds it hard to connect to their spirituality, Ceremony wasn't an intimidating experience at all: the guidance, explanation, and supporting material provided made the experience feel simple yet beautifully profound. I highly recommend Ceremony for taking a deep breath and slowing down, even if for a little while, in the midst of this fast-paced and sometimes exhausting life." - Ginny from Paris
Where it started and where we’re going
Candace, the Founder of Ceremony, was called to bring these boxes to life when her ceremony experience began in 2019 after she miscarried. Searching in vain for something to assuage and honor the loss of her child, she created a ceremony for her and her husband to grieve and heal. The experience was transformative and it was then that she realized how powerful ceremony can be.
Ceremony officially launched in May 2021 and has brought two ceremony boxes to life with a third for winter on the way and the first healing ceremony for infant loss coming in 2022. We have shipped to 5 countries and counting and strive for our boxes to reach anyone from anywhere in the world.

There is much to celebrate and honor in life and Ceremony plans to provide tools, space and sacred wisdom to support that journey.
